COS Gwanggyo

Partnering with Korean artist Studio Woojai, we developed the custom made recycled paper bricks that adorn the facade and store furniture. The paper bricks, made from old newspaper have a strength and stone-like marbling aesthetics of a construction material and at the same time, hold the warmth and soft tactility of paper.

Overall the store interior focuses on the use of natural materials such as clay plaster and and stylish minimal features. The dome shape till area serves as another key eye catching feature and provides the connection of the design details throughout the store from the arch shape perforation of the recycled newspaper bricks through to small shelving and cabinetry details.
